  1. The Shire and RIvendell would be lovely places to visit, as would Versailles (maybe not in pre-revolutionary war France, at least not for long).

    I lived in Italy for three years, so I got to visit Venice twice. One spring day we went to Venice with my baby daughter and she was wearing this jacket that said “Spring Garden” on it. It started to snow! So we took a gondola ride in the snow. When our ride was over all the gondola drivers were closing shop until the weather got better.
